When Will Weiner Stop Whining?

The Honorable Representative Anthony Weiner::

Please stop opposing the NY Sports and Convention Center (and the Jet's Manhattan Stadium). I agree with Mayor Michael Bloomberg,s assessment of your position, which was: "Clearly Congressman Weiner doesn't have much of an understanding of economics and he clearly doesn't see the finances of this deal. Part of the contingency of the Jets moving to New York was moving to Manhattan, specifically to the West Side." The Mayor, the Governor, and the Jets all want the stadium in Manhattan. From what I can tell, no stadium like this has ever been built. Why can't New York have the best?

Furthermore, since there seems to be no federal money being offered on this project, who are you to oppose it? The Jets are putting up over $600 million so support New York, its Olympic Bid, and the West Side redevelopment. This will be a facility like no other. It will be in use everyday of the week, and will have a museum, access to parks and open space, and truly be world class. We need to push for better transit service to the entire West Side to support all of the development there.

There will be no stadium in Queens, unless you have $600 million in your pocket to build it. Please stop opposing the Jet's Manhattan Stadium.

Oh, I almost forgot. Thank you for your previous support of the MTA/NYC Transit takeover of the NYC/DOT Private Bus service. I am celebrating my victory on the takeover being approved.
