'W. SIDE' JETS A HOT TICKET Stefan C. Friedman April 17, 2005 -- Despite a gargantuan waiting list, applications for Jets season tickets skyrocketed in the days after the MTA approved the club's plans to build a stadium on Manhattan's far West Side, The Post has learned. More than 225 Gang Green fans put their names on the 10,000-plus-person waiting list — which normally takes up to 10 years to turn over — in the two weeks after the MTA vote, Jets officials confirmed. Applications usually trickle in at a rate of just four or five per day. "The prospect of seeing the Jets in a state-of-the-art facility obviously has people excited," said team president Jay Cross. Cross further noted that the increase might be in part due to fans expecting season-ticket turnover to quicken with the team planning to move from New Jersey to the West Side.
