May 3, 2005 -- If we follow the plan laid out in City Council Member David Yassky's article ("A Stadium Compromise," Opinion, April 25), what would in fact be compromised are the benefits that average New Yorkers would receive from building the New York Sports and Convention Center now.

Tens of thousands of immediate construction jobs, thousands more permanent jobs in 2009 and beyond and hundreds of millions of dollars in new revenue from the 2010 Super Bowl are just a few of the many reasons that the Public Authorities Control Board should vote an unconditional "yes" for the NYSCC on May 18.
